Gershon Ben Keren has been training in Krav Maga since 1993, initially in Israel, and then Europe before moving to the US in 2008. His first schools were in London, UK with His first US Krav Maga school setting up in Medford, MA at the Roshankish Tae-Kwon-Do school. In 2012 this school moved to Charlestown, before moving to its current l ocation in Woburn (2022), Massachusetts (under 5 miles from the center of Stoneham).

Gershon Ben Keren is a criminologist who works primarily in the private sector providing security training and risk management services to a variety of corporations and enterprises. He has been working in the security industry since 1990 and has fulfilled a number of different operational roles over this time. He has two master’s degrees: one in criminology and criminal psychology (University of Essex, UK) and the other in psychology (Newcastle University, UK). He specializes in environmental criminology, which looks at how the built environment produces offending opportunities e.g., why do certain offenses/crimes happen in certain places and at certain times etc.

Originally a Krav Maga instructor with the IKMF (International Krav Maga Federation) he completed the 29-day instructor course, under Eyal Yanilov (now Head Instructor of Krav Maga Global – KMG), and Amnon Darsa. He has trained with many of the first black belts in Krav Maga under Imi Lichtenfeld, including, Mike Assulin, Avi Moyal, and Haim Gidon etc. He has written three Amazon best-selling books on Krav Maga and in 2010 was inducted into the Museum of Israeli Martial Arts in Herzliya, Israel by Dr Dennis Hanover. He is a fifth degree Black Belt in Krav Maga, and also holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Hisardut (a system taught to elite members of the IDF), and a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Judo.
